Why Jesus?

You know His name, but who is He really and why do we call Him our Rock?

Messiah.

God created and loved humankind. Despite God’s directions not to eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve disobeyed God. God calls this sin.

Adam and Eve were embarrassed and turned away from God. God knew that man was flawed, but loved His children, like any parent would love a child who disobeyed. He wanted His children near to Him, talking to Him and asking Him for help like any parent would want. He calls that prayer. However, God is a righteous judge. If a man robbed a bank and went to court to apologize, saying he would never rob a bank again, he would still be put in jail.

God had no choice. His children had to bear the sins they took on. Being that there were 613 laws in the Jewish faith (Old Testament/Torah), this was a huge burden. God's heart was heavy to see His children suffer in their disobedience of His laws. He loved them!

Throughout the Old Testament prior to Jesus, the blood of animals was used to reconcile sin. Passover is an example of that. God knew that He needed a pure sacrifice in order to free all of His children, instead of having blood shed over and over to reconcile sin.

So God sent His only Son, Jesus, the Messiah, down from heaven to make the ultimate sacrifice to end all sacrifices. Jesus was to die for all, to save everyone from the fates they were creating for themselves. Then everyone could be absolved, as long as they named Jesus their Savior. All they had to do to be forgiven was to recognize their sinful nature, aknowledge Jesus’s sacrifice and ask Him for forgiveness and help.

This was granted no matter what they had done. Once God sent His Son, all could feel comfortable to reinstate their relationship with God and find salvation after death.

One does not have to be a perfect person to be saved or to have the love of God. There are many prison ministries where men are freed of demons, that have influenced their choices. One only has to believe that Jesus came down as a human sacrifice from God, to be resurrected as their Savior. If even a “mustard seed” of someone’s soul believes this, they are absolved of all.

This is when the Holy Spirit comes to dwell inside one’s heart. This makes life a completely different experience. One may suddenly feel different about all kinds of things they used to partake in or enjoy. Their personality and habits may change as well, as they walk with God. Now they can privately share with God when they make a mistake and make a new choice when God prompts them.

Not many Kings leave their throne, but this merciful God loves us so much, that He sent His only Son through a horrific death in order to save the world. When we found Jesus many of us believed that we were unlovable or worked continuously on our “self-love”. Jesus changed that. His love is our birthright and has always been there for us, free of charge.

This is why when one says the prayer under SAVED, some can physically feel the weight of the sins or demons they were carrying lift off, resulting in His beautiful peace. Many can feel the presence of Jesus in their heart after this experience. Now when we want to change things about ourselves that we haven't been able to, Jesus helps us work through them. He is literally our personal Confidant, Guide, Comforter, Healer and Friend.

Jesus was a gift from God to absolve ALL people of every language, race and nation of sin. No one, not one of us, is exempt. God knows that all men feel anger, guilt and shame without knowing why. Most people aren’t aware of how sin manifests in us or why the world is such an unhappy place today. Having Jesus in our hearts can make whatever we are dealing with bearable.

Jesus. Our rock.

Jesus is a lot of things for a lot of people. Best of all, He’s real and He’s here to help. Once you give Him permission, He will rearrange everything in your life and bring you more happiness and joy than you’ve ever known possible. Just ask Him to reveal Himself to you..

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

— John 3:16
